One of the greatest blessings of her life was her marriage to Joe B. Crews. Married on July 3, 1954, the couple shared an extraordinary 70 years together, building a family and creating a lifetime of memories. Their relationship became an example of enduring love and commitment, admired by many who knew them.

Bettie found joy in the simple things that often matter most. She loved gathering family around the dinner table, preparing meals that became treasured traditions. Her homemade biscuits, served hot and fresh from the oven, became legendary among family members and friends. For Bettie, cooking was never just about food—it was her way of showing love.

Many longtime Baker County residents also remember another tradition closely associated with the Crews family home: the beautiful white rotating Christmas tree displayed in the front window each holiday season. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe B. Crews, and her daughter, Pam Crews.

Bettie is survived by her children: Joni Wright, Joey Crews (Kathy), Cami Shackelford (Dan), and Chris Crews (Mandy), all of Macclenny. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, extended family members, lifelong friends, and a community forever grateful for her presence.

A celebration of Bettie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Christian Fellowship Temple, officiated by Pastor Tim Thomas. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
